This project focused on preventive maintenance to keep a 140 m² weatherboard home in good condition. The homeowners planned to stay in the house for a few more years and wanted to make sure the exterior was protected from the weather. Several areas needed attention, including damaged window frames, rotten weatherboards, an ageing back deck, and worn exterior paint. 

They also wanted the convenience of having one project manager manage all trades so they wouldn’t have to coordinate the project themselves.

Work Completed

Window Repairs

  • A section of one timber window frame had rotted and was repaired.
  • Broken glass in one window was replaced.

Weatherboard Replacement

  • Several rotten weatherboards were removed and replaced.
  • Soakers were installed on the joints for added protection.

Back Deck/Landing & Stairs

  • The old back deck and stairs were starting to rot, so they were fully rebuilt.
  • To complete this work, the exterior heat pump unit was removed and reinstalled.

Scaffolding & Exterior Painting

  • A full exterior repaint was completed.
  • The client had accepted a quote from a gutter replacement company , and Oncore coordinated them and managed the scaffolding required for both the painting and gutter work.

Ground Moisture Barrier (Installed Later)

Almost a year after the main project, the clients returned to Oncore New Plymouth to install a ground moisture barrier under the house. It helped improve the home’s condition and reduce dampness.
