Do I need building consent for a bathroom renovation?

Not always. Many bathroom updates are considered minor works and don’t require consent, such as replacing fixtures or updating tiles. However, if plumbing is being relocated, structural work is involved, or a wet room is being created, consent may be needed. Oncore New Plymouth can handle any council requirements and will advise you during the planning stage.
